Romans 3:23-25
23 For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24 and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. 25 God presented Christ as a sacrifice of atonement, through the shedding of his blood—to be received by faith.
The 'glory of God' is Jesus (and obviously, we all fall short of Jesus!). He was perfect and without sin (1 Peter 2:22, Hebrews 4:15), and we can all agree that we are not perfect.
But you don't have to be perfect to be loved by God. That's the wonderful news and grace of God!
We are 'justified' (made right) before God because of the cross of Jesus Christ. How? In the death of Jesus, we have both perfect justice and perfect mercy. Not 50% justice and 50% mercy. But 100% justice and 100% mercy. God presented Christ as a sacrifice of atonement. Jesus, the sinless man and son of God, satisfied the justice of God (sin was dealt with) and displayed the mercy of God (you don't have to pay for your sin because Jesus did it on your behalf). The Apostle Paul says we receive this 'justification' simply through faith.
Be encouraged today to worship God for this wonderful news! You are saved by God's grace through faith!
