Psalm 100
1 Shout with joy to the Lord, all the earth!
2 Worship the Lord with gladness.
Come before him, singing with joy.
3 Acknowledge that the Lord is God!
He made us, and we are his.
We are his people, the sheep of his pasture.
4 Enter his gates with thanksgiving;
go into his courts with praise.
Give thanks to him and praise his name.
5 For the Lord is good.
His unfailing love continues forever,
and his faithfulness continues to each generation.
Thankfulness also places God in His rightful position in our lives. Acknowledging His sovereignty and goodness allows us to understand our purpose—to glorify Him in all we do. When we honour God through our attitude of gratitude, we align ourselves with His plans and purposes. This alignment cultivates humility and reverence, reminding us that He is God, and we are not.
Glorifying God through thankfulness strengthens our faith and deepens our relationship with Him. As we recognize His providence in our lives, we become increasingly aware of His love and faithfulness. This awareness promotes a life lived in gratitude, creating a ripple effect that impacts those around us, drawing them to the hope and joy found in knowing Jesus.
