Matthew 14:22-36
Faith
In a world full of distractions, it’s easy to lose faith and even sight of what truly matters. We see in the story of Peter walking on the water the reminder of the importance of staying focused on Jesus. Only when Peter looked away and remembered the storm around him that’s when he began to sink. This passage shows us that when we focus on the chaos around us- our worries, fears, and challenges- we can quickly feel overwhelmed. But when we keep our eyes on Jesus, not only will we not sink, but we can expect the miraculous in our situations.
We may have a head knowledge of this and then when the storms hit we get discouraged when we don’t apply this it to our lives. Here are a couple of of practical ideas for keeping your eyes focused on Jesus.
1. Stay engaged in the Bible- read it daily, and do reading plans, or devotions. Hard copy or You Version (APP) reading or listening.
2. Talk to God, listen to Him- keep the communication lines open daily, pray, pray!
3. Listen to uplifting songs- songs of worship and praise.
