Luke 2:8-20

The middle of July seems like the right time to ask, what is your favorite Christmas tradition? Maybe the family time, decorating or all. the. food. Maybe it’s going to a Christmas Eve service or reading the Christmas story as a family. The story of Jesus coming to earth is just too good to only be shared once a year. What a way for the son of God to enter the world He created.

In Luke’s telling of the story from Luke chapter 2 we see two of the groups that God chose to share the arrival of His son with. One, a majestic choir of angels, the other a group of lowly shepherds. The Angel tells the shepherds, “I bring you good news that will bring great joy to all people. The Savior, yes, the Messiah, the Lord, has been born today in Bethlehem.” Jesus God’s son, the savior of the world is born and God chooses angels and shepherds to tell. Jesus is good news that brings great joy to all people.

If you have ever wondered if Jesus is really for you, God made it clear right from the beginning, from the most majestic to the lowliest, Jesus is for all. He came for you. He loves you. Take time today thanking Jesus for coming to earth and ask Him who else in your life may need you to tell them that Jesus is for them too.
