John 11:17-44

In John Chapter 11 we read the story of Jesus’ friend Lazarus. Jesus heard that Lazarus was sick, took His time to get to where he was, and by the time Jesus arrived, Lazarus had died. Now Jesus is God, He knows all things and has the power to do all things, and spoiler alert, Jesus does end up performing a miracle and Lazarus is extraordinarily raised from the dead. But in the middle, before the miracle happens, Jesus meets with Lazarus’ sisters on the way to the tomb and they are devasted. In the middle of that moment, right in the pain, right in the middle of their questions, Jesus meets them. Verse 35 says Jesus wept.

While the end of this story reveals God’s incredible power, the middle of the story reveals God’s loving care for us. If you are in the middle part of a story right now, know that Jesus wants to meet you there. Maybe you are experiencing pain, or disappointment or have some big questions. Invite Him into whatever moment you find yourself in and He will meet you there. Is there an area of your life right now that you must invite Jesus to meet you in? Take some time today to share with Jesus where you are at and invite Him to meet you right in the middle of it all.
