Deuteronomy 30:11-20
“Just trust me!” Has anyone ever said that to you, and you felt the anxiety rising up your spine? Suddenly a choice is before you and you have to decide what to do. Do you dive all the way in and trust, do you slam the door and say no, or land somewhere in between adding some, “only ifs” or saying yes, but secretly having a back up plan. So, what do you do? Well, it depends if the person asking deserves your trust. In today’s passage from the Old Testament book of Deuteronomy, God is speaking to the group of people He has chosen for His special purposes. He offers them a deal of a lifetime, trust Him and He will bless them and do incredible things through them. In his love he warns them that choosing not to trust and go their own way will lead to disastrous consequences. What do they do choose? Well, the story is full of a lot of highs and lows, but what never changes is God’s faithfulness.
God is still asking us today if we will trust Him. Is it always easy? No, but it is always the right choice. He absolutely deserves our full, dive in all the way trust and He will be faithful to us. God loves you and He wants you to trust Him because He knows that His way is the best way for you.
Is there an area of your life that you need to trust God more fully? Confess it to Him today and commit your trust to Him.
