Colossians 1:15-23
Can you think back a few years, before you could google an answer to any question you had? If you wanted to know exactly how many points Gretzy had scored in his best 5 seasons, you had to just remember from when you heard it on TV or ask someone and hope for the best! (you just googled it didn’t you?) Now with easy access to the internet and powerful search engines it seems like we should just be able to know whatever we want, but sometimes we still struggle to sort through all the information to find what we need. One of the most important things we can know is who God is and certainly you can google the question, but the Bible tells us where to look.
Colossians 1:15 says “The Son is the image of the invisible.” Jesus reveals to us who God is. When we read of Jesus walking on water we learn that God can do the impossible. When we read about Jesus giving his life for us, we learn just how all encompassing God’s love is.
Take a few minutes today to think of a story about Jesus and ask yourself, What do I learn about who God is through this story? And then spend some time worshipping God for being whatever attribute was revealed through the story.
