2 Timothy 2

Have you ever stopped and pondered that a few hundred first-century Christians managed to saturate the entire known world with the message of Christ?

How incredible is that? They had no telephones, podcasts, email, or Amazon delivery. They did it without Christian t-shirts, billboards, bumper stickers, or television.

How is it that so few with so little could make such a huge difference back then, and so many with so much make so little difference now?

In our technologically advanced age, it is easy to lose sight of the intimate nature of the gospel. The Christian faith thrives and grows best in the context of personal relationships, and we can never forget that.

What was Jesus’ plan for reaching the world with the Good News of God’s love and forgiveness? He chose disciples and poured His life into them. The apostle Paul did the same. He taught Timothy to take the message and pass it on to reliable men and women who were obligated to spread it to the people in their lives.

By multiplying the message, the impact of the gospel increases. But it can only happen when:

  1. We are willing to be taught

  2. We are willing to share the truths we have learned with others.

Let’s remember our calling to reach people one by one for the gospel of Jesus. What we know needs to be known by the world, and we must partner with God to be the messengers.
